A crown is a cap made of ceramics and / or metal that fits narrowly over a buffed tooth or molar and simulates the original tooth or molar. A crown is used when the is insufficient support for a filling. There can also be cosmetic motives; usually if one desires to replace badly shaped of discoloured teeth or molars. A bridge consists of a few pillars with crowns over it, which, in turn, are connected to a floating spacer, the so-called dummy, that replaces the lost tooth or molar.

Layered Zirconium

The basis of a Zirconium layered crown is a cap made of the ceramic material Zirconium Dioxide. These caps are made by means of the latest CAD/CAM techniques. After the cap is made it is provided with a layer of backed ceramics by our qualified technicians, which makes it impossible to distinct it the bridge or crown from a real tooth or molar.

Your advantages:

  • 100% tissue friendly
  • Natural aesthetics
  • Wide area of indication

Monolitic

Metal free, monolithical crowns are grinded from a solid disc using computerized CAD/CAM techniques. There is a selection of materials of which one can choose, for instance Zirconium Dioxide, Lithium disilicate, feldspar and PMMA. The latter one is predominately for temporary services. If a press crown is chosen it is first grinded from wax to be then transformed to a press crown in a press oven. (E.max)

Your advantages:

  • 100% tissue friendly
  • No Chipping
  • Minimaal invasive preparation

PFM

A layered, metal crown or bridge is the same as layered Zirconium. However, the cap is not made of ceramics, but of metal. There are several alloys to choose from.

Your advantages:

  • 100% strong
  • Easy to cement

Full metal

A full metal crown is first made by wax. This is either done by hand or with the CAD/CAM system. Then it is transformed into metal using a special pouring technique. After the transformation the is fully detailed and polished to gloss.

Your advantages:

  • 100% antagonist friendly
  • Enormously strong
  • No chipping
